How old is my G&L S500

Where can I find the information about the year my G&L S500 have been produced and how it is worth now?
I have the serial number: CL04198

Hi Galino,

Here you can read more about the Serial number significance. As it happens, your S/N can be bracketed rather accurately since it starts with 'CL' and not 'G' nor 'CLF'. This was only true from late '97 to sometime in '98 when 'CL' serial numbers replaced 'G' serial numbers only to be replaced by 'CLF' serial numbers a year later. The surefire way to figure out the age is to pull off the neck and inspect the stamps on the neck heel and in the pocket. Here are some directions on how you would do that.
