Loaded pickguards

Post by scolfax »

I just bought a Legacy, and thought it would be cool to get a loaded pickguard from a Legacy HB2 to switch with every once in a while. Can I get one from G&L or do I have to make my own?

You will have to make your own.

Thanks. I guess to really keep the G&L vibe I'll have to recreate the tone system and maybe even that coil-splitter switch. Sounds complicated!

If you do decide to load one, check out our Gallery for a wiring and picture diagram of the Legacy 2HB.

Hope this helps.

I think it's always better to make your own...I usually want different pickups than those that come in pre-loaded pickguards. Though I guess if they do happen to come with the pickups you want, they are convenient. Are they usually cheaper than making your own? I've never really looked into it. I can see how the parts themselves could be discounted compared to buying them individually, but by the time you pay to have it assembled and soldered, it might still be cheaper to do it yourself.

Perfect, thanks!

Yeah, I'll probably do it myself.
