I was dating a 1990 ASAT Signature at a shop in NYC. Didn't have the budget at the time and now she's gone. This one had the large MFD's -- not the traditional-size p'up in the ashtray like the Classics have. The neck had a soft or medium V shape.
Assuming I can't find another 1990 Sig like this one, how close can I come to the same pickup config and neck specs? Do the Specials have the same neck specs?
Thanks. I learned a harsh lesson about letting a good one get away.

The ASAT Special with the #2a neck probably will be close to the one that got away.OneLongEmergency wrote:I was dating a 1990 ASAT Signature at a shop in NYC. Check the G&L Guitar Options page for neck details.
Hope this helps.

Craig is right. If you like the Sig model you'll probably groove on just about any ASAT with the number 2 neck. The #2 was by far the most common though a fair number of the #1 with the 12" board are out there. You could get a new one or search out a killer earlier example. My feeling is that earlier ASATs/ASAT Specials are a tremendouse value. Let's say 1992-1996? $500-$600, larger BBE frets, 3 bolt neck, exceptional guitars! I never met an ASAT from this time frame I didn't like.
Heaven goes by favor. If it went by merit, you would stay out and your dog would go in.
