What gauge & brand of strings does G&L use on their guitars?

The place to discuss, post photos, video, and audio of the G&L products (US instruments, stomp boxes, etc.) produced after 1991, including the amps & gear we use with them.

What gauge & brand of strings does G&L use on their guitars?

Post by RCSBlues »

Check out the G&L Knowledgebase, sub-forum General G&L Questions.
There is this post: What gauge & brand of strings does G&L use on their guitars?

I personally prefer the .10-.46 string set on my G&L's.

Hope this helps.

OK .

I am definitely in favor of using .010 - .046. strings.

I appreciate the G&L history facts as well.

Thanks,

I changed the strings last night to a set D'Addario .010 - .046; this thing
really came to life; great action, intonation, and tone; I also figured out how the micro switches work.

For now I will stay with these.

Thanks Craig.

I recently ordered a new G&L Legacy and requested that it get setup with 9-42 strings. Think they'll do that?

Probably not at the factory, but it's something that the dealer will do since they accepted your order with that request.
I'd check with your dealer and ask them if the factory is installing the requested string set or if the dealer will be doing it
after they receive it. Let us know what you find out.

Hope this helps.

I recently changed from Ernie Ball 10's to Elixir 9's on my Legacy Std. I like it much better.

I have a bluesboy and a legacy and I use .10-.46

A guitar player and luthier that I know, told me about Pyramid strings. They are made in germany and are made with a round core, like they did in the 50s and early 60s, the old fashioned way. I love em.

I buy them from www.stringsandbeyond.com
