I am seriously thinking of ordering an ASAT, probably a semi-hollow bluesboy as that sound "spoke to me" the time I tried one. Would be custom-ordering as I want the 1-3/4 nut width on the neck. Here's the question: I like the saddle-lock bridge, which is not the standard bridge on most ASATs including the Bluesboy. Can I order a Bluesboy with that bridge? Is there any reason not to do that (i.e., to stick with the traditional open boxed bridge)? If I can't order a bluesboy with that bridge, can I order one of the other ASAT models with the wide neck, the saddle-lock bridge, and the mix of bluesboy pickups?
Thanks much for your help - the only dealers I have asked did not know the answers.

Re: ASAT Options question
The ASAT Classic Bluesboy is only available with the traditional box bridge. I'm kinda surprised the dealers you spoke with did not know this.KC-AZ wrote:I am seriously thinking of ordering an ASAT, probably a semi-hollow bluesboy as that sound "spoke to me" the time I tried one. No, there is no other ASAT model with the Saddle-lock bridge with the Bluesbody pickup combination available.
You should be able to order the optional #4 neck for the ASAT Classic Bluesboy.
Hope this helps.

Re: ASAT Options question
It is the standard bridge on most ASAT-models. Only the Classic line, with it's variant the Bluesboy, do not have it.KC-AZ wrote:I like the saddle-lock bridge, which is not the standard bridge on most ASATs including the Bluesboy.
But you could go for an ASAT DeLuxe Semi-Hollow. Having a Humbucker at neck position, it's already similar to the Bluesboy and for the single coil at bridge position, the humbuckers are splitable with the toggle switch. Ordering a DeLuxe with an option neck should be possible, as far as I understood.
The slanted PU of the Classics just needs the classic bridge to be mounted somewhere.
