Dealer refused to give me the case for my NEW ASAT!!!

Hello, I'm new to the forum, but I have a problem. I just purchased a brand new ASAT Deluxe from a local dealer and they refused to give me the case that is supposed to come with my guitar. Can I call G&L and get one from them?

Weird! How come? Surely, the case comes as standard with the guitar?! Especially a new guitar.

What were their reasons for not giving you the case?

Otherwise, what did your dealer with the original case? Did they offer you the case for an extra price?

They had one in stock. It was sitting by the cash register. Salesman said I couldn't have the case because he gave me too much of a discount on the guitar. I don't know where he gets that. I paid his asking price for the guitar. I'm not asking for preferential treatment. I just think I should get what the guitar is supposed to come with.

+1 All USA G&L's come from the factory with a case. I would not have bought the guitar.

Yep, case is included in the price. Go back and get it, its yours and you're entitled to it. If he wont give it to you, demand a refund. It should be like one of those fun sized chocolate bars which says 'NOT FOR INDIVIDUAL SALE' on it.

when I ordered an ASAT a month ago, my dealer acted like he was doing me a favor and said that he wasn't going to charge me for the case. he never said or implied that it came with the guitar. I was pretty sure it was included but didn't say anything about it except that I wasn't going to pay for one (since I happen to have an extra one around).

Thanks for printing this Sprinter.

jdwhitak - print this "contents included" from the G&L web page and take the direct the dealer in question to this weprinted page to the dealer as proof. If there is any difficulty, call G&L directly from their buisiness phone (your mobile if they will not let you use their phone) and let this dealer expalin why they would not include your case.

Can you contact G&L? If the dealer is breaking their rules then maybe G&L can do something about it.

You Should Always Get Either A Gig Bag Or A Hardshell Case With A Us G&l. I Did With My 1981 L 2000 Series E Bass. Insist On The Case Or Return The Guitar. Also Call G&l. That's BS.

That case is included in the cost, go back and open him up, and if he doens't give contact G&L. It is a very nice tolex case, and it is STANDARD!

Threaten to call the Better Business Bureau on him and contact G&L regardless because this dealer is a dirt ball. I bet he's selling the cases on Ebay. G&L seems to have a hard enough time getting noticed by guitar players and shenanigans like this from a slime ball dealer doesnt help any. Next time, it you think your getting screwed on a purchase walk away and take your business elsewhere.
