Hello All
I have looked at the pickup specs on this page and understand that the old ASAT Special soapbar pickups have a lower imedance. What I am concerned with is do these early 90's 3 bolt ASAT's have a lower output...will they drive the amp less and create less gain ( as well as have less volume) than the more modern Specials.
FYI the impedance on this paticular guitar reads 4.64 on the neck and 4.9 on the bridge.
Less output on a pre 1993 ASAT Special ?

Perhaps this post in the G&L Knowledgebase, pre-BBE ASAT vs. '07 ASAT Special: Differences?, willdallyd31 wrote:Hello All

help you. BTW, GPD (Gabe) is a long time G&L historian and is well respected in the GbL community.
Hope this helps with your concern.

Re: Less output on a pre 1993 ASAT Special ?
So, would it be safe to assume then that these older pickups would have less volume and would cause less breakup with the amp than the newer Special pickups ?
If I get this, I am going to be pairing it on stage with a humbucking 335...aside from how they push the amp, I am hoping there won't be a big volume drop with these first run Special pickup vs. my 335.
