Standards guy here (meaning I play old standards, Showtunes, Sinatra tunes and the like, with a bunch of jazz guys in quiet restaurants, etc).
I used to play Rock and Blues, and a bit of Country, but I'm in my 60's now.
Today I bought a new old stock S500 because I've been farting around with various partsocasters and just got tired of it all and decided I NEEDED a new guitar (with fresher notes in it).
Anyway I think it's about '06 (haven't had it apart yet). White on white alder body- narrow birds eye maple neck with fairly large frets and locking tuners.
I use a Polytone for the quiet stuff and a Tech 21 for the crunchy stuff (don't get much call for that anymore).
Retired from my day job a couple of years ago so decided to reprise my old jazz studies from College (30 years ago). Boy, has my learning curve got rounded over!
Anyway the guys I play with think I can read music and they're a good bunch: so we have two guitars; cornet; bass; and a vocalist. Sometimes piano and drums too but not usually.

Welcome!
When you get a chance, please add your S-500 to our G&L Registry and
there are some here which require photograph proof or they will say it does not exist.
You can find the details for posting photos in the guitarsbyleo.com History and G&LDP Guidelines.
We all enjoy seeing G&L Porn, so when you can, take some pictures of your new G&L and post them here
or in the G&L PORN! topic in the Let's talk G&L Products forum.

Re: New Guitar Day S500
Oh yeah of course!
I'll have our youngest (the drummer, but he has a phone!) shoot a pic or two, maybe tonight.
I'll get it registered asap. I haven't even got the black with grunge strings off it yet (still sounds good though: I went to change the strings and got lost playing through the amp).
