I just got back from placing my order for a new Legacy HB with my local dealer! Nothing too fancy, but with just a few upgrades. Here are the specs:
Legacy HB in cherry burst over Swamp Ash
Maple fingerboard
Graphtech Nut
Locking Tuning Machines
Pearloid pickguard
All other features standard
I was hoping to get the MFD pickups in the middle and neck, but was told that wasn't an option on the Legacy models, but that's no biggie.
They were told 6-7 weeks, though another dealer I checked with told me 9-11 weeks. So I'm hoping by late January...though I'm not in a big hurry...I've got other guitars I can play in the meantime!

My build in august too about 7 weeks and a day, GL to yours (I was quoted 13 weeks by my dealer at the time).

Re: Placed my order!
Congratulations, Muleya. Mine took around 9 weeks, that's including the shipping time to Australia. I remember reading somewhere that someone waited 16 weeks at one point. I imagine you'll be able to pick up (pun intended) a couple of MFD pickups in the marketplace or ebay if you need to.

I've already waited almost 18 weeks, so there is no telling. Cherry burst is sweet!

Re: Placed my order!
Wow,good luck with yours, I have a very closely specked guitar on order. I placed my order on 10-17-10, and I was told around 11 weeks. Here are my specks.
Legacy HB in cherry burst over Swamp Ash
Ebony fingerboard
1 11/16 Nut width-With a 12 inch radius
Graphtech Nut
Locking Tuning Machines
Tortoise pickguard
All other features standard
I guess now we play the waiting game, but all good things are worth the wait.

Re: Placed my order!
Hey, that's kind of cool...they are pretty similar! I saw in another thread you were weighing that against an Invader. I thought briefly about an Invader, but I've never had a double-locking tremelo, and not sure I want to go there. With locking tuners and a Graphtech nut, I should be fine for the way I use the tremelo bar. Also, I wanted an SSH configuration. I'm actually thinking 6-7 weeks was optimistic. I had checked with a dealer about an hour away and he had told me 9-11 weeks...I'm thinking that's probably more realistic.

M,
We are on the same wave length. I do not think I wold like the Floyd Rose Trem's, though I have never used them. I am not a dive bomber on the trem either, and I usually go for long periods of not even having the trem bar inserted.

Yes, if you want to order a new G&L. Check the G&L website.bebenavole wrote:so the only way 2 order a custom G&L is through a dealer?

There you will find a US Dealers link and Distributors (for international customers) link on the left hand side.
Hope this helps.
