Vintage cream vs Mint green
I'm having a hard time deciding between G&L cream and mint pickguards. Haven't seen them in person. Can someone post pictures?

From G&L's main website:scolfax wrote:I'm having a hard time deciding between G&L cream and mint pickguards. Haven't seen them in person. Can someone post pictures?
Legacy in Vintage White with 3-ply Creme pickguard, Creme pickup covers and knobs
Legacy in Lake Placid Blue with Mint Green 3-ply pickguard, covers and knobs
Hope this helps.

Thanks, that does help! What do *you* think would look better on a Fullerton Red Legacy with rosewood fretboard?

I think they both will look equally great.
Not much help this time

+1 for Vintage Cream. I have it on my Legacy, but on a red guitar it'll have a nice "strawberry and cream" theme happening. The Cream is warm... the mint is cool.

Do the matching pickup covers and knobs go with the pickguard selection? It adds to the look only if they all match.
Fullerton Red and mint guards on paper would clash, but I have seen plenty of cases where some combination sounds like it won't work, but when I see it I like it.

I am guilty of having too many Red guitars. They are absolutely gorgeous with a Pearl White pickguard, either Vintage White or White.--Darwin

Like Darwin, I have too many red guitars. Though not a G&L, this baby has a mint green guard and creme pickups and knobs.
I wouldn't have picked mint green for a red guitar but it looks much better than it sounds! You can see that the differences between the mint and the creme are rather subtle.
I think mint green would look just fine on a Fullerton red model.

If the G&L mint is as subtle as that, that's what I'm looking for. Is that a Fender mint guard? I have a mint guard from Callaham and it's *way* too green. As in, chocolate chip mint ice cream green.

Yeah, that's a Fender mint green guard. It did look very green in the white packaging, but against candy apple red it doesn't look very green at all.

I've been agonizing over this to the point where I don't want to think about it anymore. White it is!

My vote goes to vintage cream
Philby I had a red strat that looked almost identical! it had a all maple neck though, man that brings back memories, I really miss that guitar.

I've asked my missus to kick me in the crown jewels if I ever consider selling that guitar!Philby I had a red strat that looked almost identical! it had a all maple neck though, man that brings back memories, I really miss that guitar.
It's a 1985 MIJ and has the most perfectly shaped neck I've ever laid hands on.
Back on topic: After seeing that picture of George Fullerton with his namesake I vote creme as well.

Re: Vintage cream vs Mint green
Hello everybody. I'm new here, just made my first G&L purchase from Guitar Adoptions.
I'm going for the '62 look and currently wondering which way to go with the pick guard. Initially, I thought mint, but from these pictures, the vintage cream looks better on a sunburst.
Any idea if G&L has more than one cream color stock ? The pictures on GA website show the 'cream' to be a lot more 'white'....
The guitar is an S500, sunburst with a rosewood board and gun oil neck.
Thanks in advance.
