What are you currently working on?
Song wise that is. I'm currently working on the song by "Band of Skulls" that's featured on the 2011 Ford Mustang commercials. It's just stuck in my head and won't go away. I figured I might as well learn and own it.
What's stuck in your head past or present?

Re: What are you currently working on?
2 Tunes of other peoples , Dream Theatre - The Count of Tuscany (almost done this one, a lick or 2 elude me but that is all), and a perpetual project, Brent Mason - Hot Wired.
On my own I am working on an ambient spacey tune, when I am not busy practicing my chops, which due to the busy nature of my life at the moment, is not often. Alternate and hybrid picking exercises, as well as chord construction/voicing stuff owns my time.

Re: What are you currently working on?
YOU ARE NOW ENTERING BLUES HEAVEN!!
The solos of all these songs:
Robert Cray
[*]I Can't Fail
[*]Forever Good Bye
[*]That's What Keeps Me Rockin'
Hendrix
[*]Red House
[*]Hey Joe
[*]Wind Cries Mary
Freddie King
[*]The Stumble
Also I need to work on playing less notes and getting more energy into playing one note, (bending etc.) the old teacher's lament. I'm also working on practising scales and arpeggios against my teacher's wishes.
I've been mostly a bedroom player and played an open mike within the last month. Teacher says I need to mix it up and get out of the house. Talk to my wife why don't you.....

Well, my girlfriend just left for work and she was singing 'Copacabana', so thats stuck in my head until midday at least....
I'm working on western swing rhythm. Getting all those chord substitutions down. I'm teaching myself but it's coming along alright.

Right now, for some reason I can't even begin to fathom, I've got the theme to "I Dream of Jeanie" stuck in my head.
So I guess you could say I'm working on getting rid of that. Hopefully it won't involve driving an ice pick through my forehead.

I'm working on electric guitar, again. I quit my band when my daughter was born and wrote/played out totally solo acoustic stuff. She's 14 now...and if you've got one of your own, I think you might know what that means...
So I'm very into the electric sounds, again...

Something not so hard and something not so easy.
Blind Blake's "Chump Man Blues" (this is the not so hard one)
Blind Boy Fuller's "Truckin' My Blues Away"

Ya might take a breather from Robert Cray and the blues rockers and put on some Albert King. The guy could write a whole volume with just one note and pull off a bend that could suck the air out of the room.GoldRush wrote:Also I need to work on playing less notes and getting more energy into playing one note, (bending etc.) the old teacher's lament.

Re: What are you currently working on?
Just four songs at the moment. We're going to make an acoustic demo tomorrow I'll be using my PRS Archtop on the piezo setting and the other guitar player will be playing his Alvarez-Yari dreadnaught. The songs we've been rehearsing are:
Rock and Roll Heart (Eric Clapton), Amie (Pure Prairie League), Ramblin' Man (Allman Brothers Band), and Let It Be (The Beatles).

Re: What are you currently working on?
I cooked up a new cover this weekend, 'tell the truth' by derek and the dominoes. Love EC!
My brother, who I play with in my main project, is writing songs that are very hard for me. So i have been working pretty hard just to keep my head above water on the originals front. I am going to have to put him on a strict 5 chord/song limit.
This is getting funny, but there ain't nobody laughing.

The amp is mine and guitar was mine as well. Was being the operative word. The amp is a Swart Atomic Space Tone. I love the tone of the amp. That along with its compact form and low weight make it an ideal gigging amp.gitapik wrote:So you've got a new guitar...? Is the amp in the shot yours? Re: What are you currently working on?
I saw/heard a demo of an ASAT going through a Fuchs Plush Cream Overdrive/Distortion and into that Swart amp. Very, very, very nice. I've got a Boogie Mark IIB. Had the distortion modded and I love that amp, but it's HEAVY. Your amp looks and sounds great. And it's nice that it's light. That's a huge plus.RickT wrote:The amp is mine and guitar was mine as well. Was being the operative word. The amp is a Swart Atomic Space Tone. I love the tone of the amp. I'm very attached to my Mesa. Thinking about switching from the EV speaker to one of those neodyne speakers. Shed about 13 lbs but I'm concerned how it would effect the clear tone.
Or I could sell it...and go for something like yours.
Here's the link to the demo. Incidently: the ASAT he's playing is the one I ended up ordering (Vintage White/Mint pickguard/gun oiled maple fingerboard)...I'm really excited about it:

(I like the Fuchs, pedal, btw. Thinking of getting one)
Mind if I ask what the guitar is that you got? I like the one in that picture...bet TIm likes his end of the deal, too...

Re: What are you currently working on?
The one in the picture is Broadcaster #806. Tim was the former owner of that guitar which I purchased from Buffalo Brothers back in 2005. The guitar has some sentimental value to Tim and he wanted it back. So he made me an offer that I couldn't refuse. It is an ASAT Classic from George Fullerton's private collection. It is a really nice guitar and came with some really cool George Fullerton artifacts. To own a guitar like the Broadcaster is special, but to own a guitar that was actually played by George Fullerton is pretty special too.gitapik wrote:...Mind if I ask what the guitar is that you got? I went through a bunch of different amps over that last few years and finally settled on the Swart a few years ago. There are so many great amps being made and it becomes impossible to simply say "That is the best amp being made today." For me, I wanted great tone, spring reverb, point-to-point wiring, portable and a vintage feel. The Swart gave me all that plus it has tube tremolo! I've gotten a lot of utility out of that amp.

Wow...that's some kinda trade! Can't go wrong on either side with the guitars, as they are...add Fullerton's name to it. Fantastic.
Thanks for the info...I love talking shop.

Re: What are you currently working on?
About a couple of months ago I happened to catch a PBS show with a Beatles tribute band. One of the songs the band played was "The End," where the solos originally contributed by John, Paul, and George were all played by one guitar player. That inspired me to say "I should try that." As of today I can play the same solos now (not perfectly every time), I also included the very last part of the song with the arpeggiated C chord with the little riff at the end.

I am active with my band, our band name is "EMPEROR IN Nerva" Our newly formed band was about 2 months ago, so we do not have their own songs, play songs still others, such as waking the cadver and job for a cowboy
