Back from down under..

Post by offplanetfilms »

I'm an animator / composer with Off Planet Films (based in Tasmania, Australia) ...only been playing guitar since 2007 (keyboard player before that... mostly for soundtrack work.)

Currently own 2 G&L's (it's difficult to own just one!) ...A Legacy & a George Fullerton Signature Model. (They'll stay with me for life!)

Tom.

Hi and welcome. What's the other model G&L you have, and what kind of films/shorts are you working on?

A my full G&L arsenal consists of a 2-tone sunburst ash body/ maple necked Legacy (the one in my avatar) ...and a clear red George Fullerton Signature Model. (I bought them both in Sydney)

I'm always working on either short films or web clips (politically incorrect stuff mostly), but our YouTube channel is at: http://www.youtube.com/offplanetfilms ...all our short films are perhaps better organised for viewing at http://www.offplanetfilms.net

Previously, I mainly used a Roland W-30 keyboard for all the soundtrack work, but I've slowly been using guitar (I still consider myself a learner)

Thanks for the links, looking forward to going through them. Are you using mostly plugins for the guitar work? Particular interface?...

I only have a few basic toys for recording guitar at the moment... mainly an old Line 6 Pod2 (easy, basic & quick to setup) ...but I do have a couple of transistor practice amps as well (A Marshall Valvestate and a Behringer)

I'm saving my pennies for a decent valve amp... perhaps something like a Vox AC-15 or thereabouts.

I've only used a few recordings of my guitars on my "Help You Survive" web series of clips... all done through the Line 6 Pod so far. (Very basic playing... I was pretty green when I recorded it!)
