About 20 years ago i bought a 1984 L-2000 bass. The body has 1 small ding in the face near the right of the middle pickup and the neck was jacked up on it. Truss rod isnt busted, but it doesnt work properly. It wont hold tension overnight and the neck is slightly bowed. Also the headstock seems to bow up under tension, kinda like its a little spongy or something. I seem to remember the shop telling me they got it in partial trade and that they were told it had sat in it's case in a closet for years. The electronics are all fine and as they should be. I bought it because i liked the looks of it and was told that they are awesome basses. I'm also a sucker for a good fixer-upper and this seemed to fit the bill nicely.
Fast forward to today. Life got in the way with work and kids and for a number of years i ended up being caretaker for my better half, who passed away from cancer this last December. I now have plenty of time to obsess over my favorite obsession. I think i may be driving myself a little

I have found an SB-2 Tribute neck in excellent shape with tuners that is already drilled for a 3 bolt neck. Will this work? Are all 3 bolt screw spacings the same? It seems my best option price wise and work wise, as it would just mean fitting it to the body.
Do you guys know of better options? or have any advice/insight on grafting an offshore SB-2 neck onto a Fullerton made L-2000 body?
I'm a big fan of using already made/vintage parts and don't want to put more into this than it's worth, so i'm a bit hesitant to just order a new made neck. What would you do?
