CLF Research Espada with Z Type MFD split-coil hum-cancelling pickups Availability?

Post by Rclau79 »

Hello,

My first post here (actually a question). Does anyone know when the CLF Research Espada with Z Type MFD split-coil hum-cancelling pickups will be available again? I have been looking everywhere and cannot find them. Sweetwater has a couple but are custom made at very high prices.

Thanks and cheers!

Welcome to our site! :happy0065:

There are three versions you can order the CLF Research Espada:

The CLF Research Espada comes in limited finishes as listed on G&L's website: https://www.glguitars.com/product/clf-research-espada/.

In 2024 G&L added the CLF Research Espada model to the Build To Order (BTO) U.S.A. Dealers Price List, which means you can order one
built in the finishes and options available for BTO models. Here is a link to the BTO webpages to see the available finishes and options:
https://www.glguitars.com/build-to-order/. Note that the G&L website is not quite up-to-date regarding which Models, Finishes,
and Options currently available, so contact G&L Dealers to get the most up-to-date information.

The most expensive model is through G&L Custom Shop, which you can vastly customize, see https://www.glguitars.com/customshop/. To order a Custom Shop build, you need to work with the G&L Custom Shop Dealers listed on
the Custom Shop website.

For the list of G&L Dealers, see: https://www.glguitars.com/united-states-dealers/

Hope this helps.

Hi Craig,

I am working with Sweetwater on an Espada Build to Order (BTO). I have a couple of questions:

1. If I don't order the Deluxe Tolex Guitar Case, will the guitar come with a G&L Gig Bag at no extra cost?
2. I put a request to Sweetwater to see if I could get the Espada with the current production 45th Anniversary finish, Sapphire Blue Metallic. Is this something G&L could accomodate?

Thanks in advance and hope you had a great weekend.

Cheers!

1. All BTO models come with the G&L Gig Bag at no extra cost.
2. The 45th Anniversary finish is exclusive to the 45th Anniversary models.

Hope this helps.

Hey Craig!

Just ordered the BTO Espada (through Sweetwater). Just want to confirm if you know that the headstock will include the "G&L Espada" logo. I did not include any color in the headstock, just gloss finish in original maple wood.

Thanks!

Yes, it should include the Model name decal on the headstock.

Please do post some photos once you receive the guitar!
