Happy post Halloween weekend to ya all!

Are you having a Halloween candy hangover?

Lunch today while watching college football is left over pizza, a mini Reece cup, and a mini Snicker bar. Mini candy bars don't have as many calories either.

So, are ya still picking at left over candy that trick or treaters didn't get, was it all given away or are you avoiding candy like the plague? We didn't have as many trick or treaters as in the past so as the night went on we were giving out handfuls but still had some left over. OR, maybe we bought a lot hoping some would be left over! Some cool costumes from the few small kids in our neghborhood. Most are older and away at school or off working. It's strange seeing kids that used to run in our yard coming by with young kids of their own.

Craig posted Legacy SSZ for Acoustic Union in Serbia yesterday that really caught my attention, and the shell pink was even more. There have been a few of these that I bet sound fantastic. I've played with Z-Coil combinations that work really well, and this seems like it would have great tonal varieties. With a Will Ray Z-Coil that would have even more punch! What's yer take on the SSZ and what Z-Coil combination would you like to have? My pick is a big MFD neck and WR Z-Coil bridge or Z-Coil neck and MFD ASAT Super bridge, and the ASAT wood will take some more though.

Covered this every year at an annual Halloween charity show we played over about 25 years give or take until the band called it a day about 3 year years ago - mostly as the set openner, less often as the show closer .....

Halloween is a good time for a LR! of course, i had some leftover (hoarded?) reeses pbc's, and a philly cheese steak.

As a comanche owner since 2015, I'm a disciple of the z coil p'up. They sound great in the basement (like most things), but where they really shine is playing out live with my band. I've used that gtr at most of our gigs over the past 9 years and it never disappoints, partly because its build quality and playability are outstanding, but also because of the merits of the p'ups. You've heard me say this before and i haven't changed my mind. I don't have the Will Ray bridge p'up on the comanche, but i did install an ASAT Super bridge p'up, same idea as the WR z coil, on my ASAT special and imo, that makes a big difference. It has turned it into an amazing blues-rock machine and it certainly has its own sound. that gtr is heavy (2007, 9 lbs even, tele body thickness and a #1 classic C neck) but there's just something about it. I've had a bunch of other ASAT specials, all great in their own right, but this one is unique (pic for those who like images...) and is my keeper.



re: spooky songs, of course, i love the "monster mash" which i learned in the early '70's, but i was an avid BOC fan (don't fear the Reaper!) also in the '70's and ongoing, but one of my fav's of theirs is "I Love the Night" from Spectres (1977), here's a YT vid of that:

You got a great ASAT there, I am with you 100% on the ASAT Super bridge! Those can add magic to any guitar.

Ahh, the days of BOC. My band in high school played Don't Fear the Reaper as well. I followed them through the 80's and thought Club Ninja was an underappreciated album.

i haven't spun club ninja but i have heard dancin in the ruins, and a few other cuts they've done from that record, live.
