Pleasntly surprised !

Post by Ljislinlk »

A few weeks ago I bought a 2024 USA G&L Deluxe ASAT with the small single coil MFD's & wasn't 100% sure I did the right thing as I really love the Fender American Pro 2 & it's neck. I still can return the G&L so I went to GC today to play an American Pro now that I've spent some time with G&L. I still really like the neck on the Pro 2 smaller frets & it plays a bit easier (that could be the 9's on it) but plugged in it sounded kinda lifeless compared to the G&L, so I grabbed a Fender American Vintage & it sounded much better than the Pro 2 especially the neck pick up. But even the Fender Vintage didn't have the tones or punch of the G&L. Anyway came home happy & stoked to have taken the chance on the G&L. My surprise was at how much better the G&L sounds and how much fun it is it play compared to the Fenders in same price range. My thought of "did I buy the right guitar" are 110% gone ! I'm sure in another few weeks I'll be used to the neck larger/taller frets on the G&L.

Oh Man, please don't tell me I need to buy another one :) I was thinking about those bigger pick ups but wanted more traditional looking Tele, if only music stores carried G&L's who knows what I woulda bought. On the larger MFD's what's the main difference between them ?

:D

And don't forget to add something with 3 MFDs and a Dual Fulcrum Vibrato to your list :)
