Inner Mysteries of the G&L Semi-Hollow Body

Post by GT1Jimi »

All the literature regarding G&L's semi-hollow guitars always references "G&L’s distinctive twin voice chambers and f-hole". My question: does anyone have a photo or drawing of just exactly what is removed from the body blank when they make these? Just where exactly are these "twin voiced chambers" anyway?

I'd like to try a semi hollow. Thinlines often catch my eye.
All I found was this:
viewtopic.php?p=91524

"Same as ASAT Classic, except features twin Voice Chambers on the left and right sides of the body. "

Doesn't help much though.

I have been looking for my photo of an ASAT SH body (before the body top was glued on). I must have it at our house in Paso Robles. I will up there next month.
I will post it as soon as I can find it.

Stay tuned.
