Hello From Michigan

Post by GMKomatz »

Hi Everyone,

Garret here from Metro Detroit. Been aware of G & L for many years, but have really taken a liking to them in the past few years. Aiming to have my first G & L sometime this year.

Hope that all are well today, and looking forward to the discussions. Thank you.

Howdy Garret, :greet:

Welcome and be warned, that G&L “liking” you’re experiencing has lead many people to saying things like, “This one’s not like anything I own.”, “This one is a Custom Creation Limited Edition.”, “Will Ray (or Jerry Cantrell) has one just like this.” “Jos’ web page says these sound amazing.” or my favorite, “This will be the last one, I promise!” Either way round it, when you find the one calling your name your playing improves and you smile a lot more!

Like Dan says, a bunch of knowledgeable folks round here and we love to see each others guitars. What style do you play and whatcha playing now?

Remember, you can never have too many ASAT’s!

Dan, thank you for the well wishes. Good to know on the different seasons and level of posting on the board.

Sam, I'm definitely finding myself going through the gallery here, gguitar.com and Jos' page learning about the different history on G & L models. Style wise, I'm in the Rock field (Blues, Americana, Hard and Heavy, Older Metal) with some jangle and Folk included. Not playing a lot at the moment, but apart from G & L I've also getting into Godin out of Quebec. See a lot of similarities with quality and craftsmanship.

Godin makes some excellent guitars, and for reasonable price. I first became aware of Godin probably around 1990. I eventually owned an Aritisan SG for years which had great action. I no longer have the guitar since I sold it during one of my downsizing cycles.
