Pickup Cavity Depth
Hey I'm wondering if anyone knows the standard G&L S style pickup cavity depth? Does it vary for Z Coils vs Single Coil MFDs? Thanks!

Re: Pickup Cavity Depth
IIRC, the bathtub routes for the S style bodies are all the same depth.goatofballstreet wrote:Hey I'm wondering if anyone knows the standard G&L S style pickup cavity depth? Does it vary for Z Coils vs Single Coil MFDs? Thanks!
I recommend you contact Memo (G&L Service Manager) and ask him this question. His email address is repairs@glguitars.com.
Hope this helps.

Re: Pickup Cavity Depth
I haven't had any z-coils but with a 2012 Legacy body I have; S-500 pickups fit the bathtub route with no issues. Let us know what details you get from Memo. I can grab that legacy and probably a Tribute Comanche body (bought stripped body) and measure those.

Re: Pickup Cavity Depth
I'll reach out, thank you for the help everyone! I'm thinking of making a ZSS configuration for my S500 since I wish the bridge pickup just had more girth compared to the other two positions. I would love to find a F100 MFD humbucker but looks like the Will Ray Z Coil might be the more readily available option for me
