Post your favorite classics here...
Vanilla Fudge - Keep Me Hanging On

Carmine Appice freaking rocks the house...on a miniscule drum kit by today's standards (even for Carmine) and Tim Bogert is a godfather of rock bass. Dang I wish I had a B3 and a Leslie...

It is not much of a video, but this take has something. Recorded on December 18, 1969 (yes Keef Riffhard's 26th birthday) with Jagger screaming in the mike, Charlie pounding the skins, Bill being stoic, Bobby Keys wailing on the horn, young Mick T. playing slide, and a certain Slowhand taking the solo after Bobby. And of course Keith driving it all with the meanest, loosest, grooviest, rhythm guitar around...

Carmine always dressed like a 70s porn star
then again, they all did in this video...
Anyone spot that bass? what is that?
It looks like a full on telecaster.

Re: YouTube Old School
Cool videos everbody.
I think Vanilla Fudge was great and their sound as well as Steppenwolf's have
stood the test of time. I think they still sound great and their songs hold up well against any newer bands.
The Tim Bogert bass in that video has always been a curiousity of mine.
It actually looks like an ASAT bass but it must have been custom made for him.
I don't know if anybody has any info on it but if you do I would love to here what it is.

Re: YouTube Old School
I guess this is old school by now. Haven't heard Priest for a while and so it's kinda fresh again. Almost forgot how much I love this band.

Spinal Tap is always a blast to watch. What do you low-enders think about Harry Shearer's Ricky? I love that cresting wave design on those guitars.
Now Starbooty is an interesting pick. It's some pretty classic disco, with some pretty cool horns in there. I don't know why I don't remember hearing it at the local discos? The Red Onion restaurant out here used to have a pretty happening disco, back in "The Day". Now dance, banana. I said dance.

I thought Red Onion's heyday was in the '80s. At least that's when I was going there.
