I have seen mention of this in the distant past... apologies if I have overlooked it here.
It seems that some Custom Creations logos are missing on the reverse of headstocks for those limited runs where it "should" be there.
I have no clue where I have seen mention of this before, so can't provide models where this has been observed, and I can't recall the reasons for it.
However, I have seen it on a Savannah edition guitar in recent weeks. Elsewhere, the Savannah guitars are described as having a small CCD and G&L logo at the very tip of rear of the headstock. I was thinking I could be looking at a replaced neck, although it is quartersawn as per the original, and then remembered discussion of absent CCD logos being mentioned somewhere previously.
Are any forum members able to recall any discussions about this?
Many thanks!

How do i know if my G&L legacy is custom shop or not?
Here is the Internet Archive to the 2017 Custom Creations page:

Jos (aka yowhatsshakin) has a great writeup on the Custom Creations on his website:

Hope this helps.

The links do lead to discussions about how a CCD guitar "should" have a logo (for most models), but I am wondering about those models where it is actually a Customs Creation (Savannah, etc.) and "should" have a CCD logo (based on the descriptions provided by those who have them, such as Jos) but actually don't.
The Jos link to CCD guitars is a great read and one of reasons I was prompted to ask. There is a link to the Korina edition guitars in that article, describing some of their certification as being "all over the place". That sounded interesting, and it did provide one little breadcrumb...
First, the link is: http://yowhatsshakin.com/yowhatsshakin/ ... ction.html.
And here is the "breadcrumb":
So, in some CCD releases which by almost all accounts "should" include a CCD logo, its absence may indicate different production runs for the model (earlier or later than the bulk of them). At least, that is what I take from it. In the case of the Korina edition, the first off the line apparently have no CCD logo (and no silver certificate, which was provided on later runs).Jos wrote: The very first production run has nothing more than the S/N, the second run additionally shows a large CCD logo but without a sequence number underneath as seen in previous CCD runs.
Does anyone have any info on the Savannah edition? I assume it is a similar issue. I'm not really questioning the guitar's authenticity, I just have a burning curiosity about tiny details that probably have no intrinsic meaning whatsoever

Look for the photo of the back of the Bluesboy. Bring photo up and you will see the CCD logo.
Also, see the "Savannah Collection shared features:" as it mentions the G&L Custom Creations Certificate.
Hope this helps.

Re: Missing CCD logos on rear of headstocks
Hi Craig -
Thanks again for the reply.
I think I am stumbling over myself. Apologies. But your link helps me make a better fist of things perhaps.
The link points to the Savannah collection, and as you mention it includes a reverse headtock shot which clearly shows the small CCD logo which I am asking about.
Let us take this photo as the "reference" image. We can therefore assume that any guitar in the Savannah collection should include this logo as pictured. All good.
However, some guitars do not have this logo where the reference image suggests that we should expect it to be there. I am curious as to why.
Tracing one of your earlier links, Jos mentions that for the Korina collection some of the earliest off the production line had a serial number but were also missing this logo, which would normally be expected to be present on a Korina edition model.
From that, I am guessing something similar is involved with the Savannah line. The CCD logo which we expect to be there might have been "forgotten about" in the first production run. However, I can see no mention of this for the Savannah models, so this is all guesswork based on what Jos has observed for the Korina line.
I think that conclusion is a reasonable supposition, even if it is only that. Happy to hear of alternative explanations, otherwise I will adopt this as my answer.
Again, thanks for the time and help put into something which - at the end of the day - is my obsession with a quirky matter of detail.
