Jeff Beck RIP

Post by sam »

Very very sad day for musicians and guitarists world wide.

Unfortunately never saw him play live but have played his records for years. He had fingers like no one else.

Beck died Tuesday after “suddenly contracting bacterial meningitis,” his representatives said in a statement released Wednesday. The location was not immediately known

Jeff Beck is a giant in the rock music world, he has very few equals. I had the good fortune of seeing him in concert in Portland, OR around 1980, must have been around the 'Blow by Blow' and 'There and Back' period, what a mindblower as a musician! I still listen to his music often; there's no reason to stop now.

Another one of my guitar heroes has passed on.
How sad and unexpected, may he RIP.

That's a shocker. He always looked so young, even in his 70's.
His 'Wired' record from '76 was my first exposure and remains my personal favorite but 'Blow by Blow', which preceded it, was also a masterpiece.
I also liked 'There and Back' and '99's 'Who Else'.
His 'Live at Ronnie Scott's' DVD is worth watching for those of us who weren't lucky to see him live.
His musical genius, talent and technique were other-worldly and will be missed. RIP Jeff
