That is one of the most handsome musical instruments I have laid eyes on. Really nice combo. Emerald green really shines in these photos.

A nice looking instrument for sure, but what is the point of a roasted ash body with an opaque finish?

Different tone and lighter weight body.

G&L has had the BODY WOOD SUBSTITUTION FOR ALDER option for a long time. With the G&L Custom Shop option they have added more substitution woods.
The Custom Shop BODY WOOD SUBSTITUTION FOR ALDER option as listed on the G&L Custom Shop web pages is:
Swamp Ash For models and colors which come standard with Alder, Swamp Ash may be specified.
ORDER CODE: ASH
Roasted Ash For models and colors which come standard with Alder, Roasted Ash may be specified.
ORDER CODE: RASH
Lightweight American Basswood For solid colors, Lightweight American Basswood may be specified.
ORDER CODE: BAS
Okoume For models and colors which come standard with Alder, Okoume may be specified.
ORDER CODE: OKU
.

Hope this helps.
