1990 G&L Interceptor Third Version Gold SSS at Auction

Personally I am a sucker for the 1st Style X-body Interceptors but I was just getting ready to pull the trigger on the NOS 1990 3rd Style SSS Gold Interceptor listed on ebay and seconds before I was going to pull the trigger poof it was gone ! Did someone here(I hope) get it ?
She was a beaut !

i have the '88 gold/tan 3rd style body "long horns" HSS, which i bought minutes after seeing it on reverb a few years back. they are unique (and rare) guitars for sure. i think the SSS version was even more rare...

JimiRayKing, it was definitely a case of pull the trigger now or someone else would. Too cool a guitar to pass on, and this is coming from an ASAT guy. So it did stay among the GLDP family.

John, the “rare” aspect played heavily into the acquisition.

Will post a NGD(S) soon. Yes plural, I was on a roll the past few weeks, can’t wait for the Interceptor to land.

Congrats Sam! Even I was sorely tempted “buy” that rare beauty. I knew she wouldn’t last long. But as the quite happy owner of three Skyhawks (plus two others I owned and moved on to happy owners), I convinced myself that I didn't need another Skyhawk-type platform. If I did, I might have to change my handle to "tomahawk." (Hey, that's not too bad!)
