Hello all! Have this ‘07 Classic Custom that I just adore. It’s my longest owned guitar and an absolute keeper.
But I have this lingering desire for a Nashville-style tele for those 4th position strat tones.
In doing some research, I found these two gems:
So now I have a couple of notes out to builders about doing a route in the body and pickguard to accommodate such a thing, but I’m needing some help and insight with which middle pickup to select.
Of course, the selection may have a lot to do with which pickup I can actually find as my suspicion is that finding a reverse-wound Jumbo MFD will prove quite a bit more challenging than a middle-position S-500 pickup.
But what do you think would make for the best pairing? Any ASAT 3 owners here who can chime in on whether or not the Jumbo MFD would yield the tones I’m looking for?
Thanks in advance.
