PTB and basic sound

Post by bluesywoosy »

I own a wonderful US made 2003 G&L Legacy and have a question:

Does the PTb-Wiring influence the basic sound of the guitar compared to a regular stratocaster wiring?
Or (if both pots are in 10-position) are they completely neutral?
Or are there any ideas what makes the difference between the legacy and a strat?

Even at "10" the filter and volume circuits still influence the sound as they are never completely switched out, but the effects are minimized. In that situation I would expect the sound difference to be primarily due to the different pickups used in each guitar.

Check out this post: Can you explain the PTB circuit?

Hope this helps.
