Hi everyone,
I've been lurking around here for a while finding out more information about G&L as I looked into possibly buying an ASAT Classic. As of Thursday, I now own a '12 Butterscotch Blonde so it's time I officially joined the community.
So why a G&L ASAT Classic? A while ago I owned MIM Road Worn Tele, I can't remember why but I moved it on and have regretted it since. Recently I had been looking for a traditional USA made Tele and had missed out on a few. My search intensified when I heard that Jimmy Page recorded the first Led Zeppelin album with a tele and he used it on some solos on other records too, I always thought Page had Number One from the beginning! G&L's are pretty rare here in Australia, but they occasionally pop up. One was listed recently on a local marketplace for a very reasonable price so I went and took a look, and low and behold it's sitting next to me as I type.
I'll do a NGD post as I have a few questions and need advice on some things.

Welcome. I really love butterscotch blonde guitars, but haven't found a G&L yet. Where in Australia are you located? I'm in Adelaide, and there are several others on this list.aussiekris wrote:Hi everyone,

Hey David. I'm Melbourne based. I really haven't seen many G&Ls around here, a few Tributes here and there but not a lot of US made ones. I must say though I'm really glad to have found this one.
Yeah butterscotch is a great colour for a Tele style IMO. My Road Worn was painted so you couldn't see the grain, but my ASAT Classic you can see some nice grain coming through which I really like.
