2005 G&L Legacy Special Authenticity

Post by LeadFoot »

Hello,

Can’t get a response from G&L in regards to authenticity. I purchased my guitar second hand, and unfortunately it didn’t come with the certificate. The serial number is CLF36006, just want to make sure it isn’t counterfeit. If it’s real, could I buy an certificate? Any help is very much appreciated, thank you for your time!

What’s the best way to provide photos via forum? Thanks again

Yes, you can get a COA from the G&L On-Line Store. Here's the link: https://g-l-online-store.myshopify.com/ ... rtificates. Only the COA will be available for this year instrument.

For posting photos, see: Tutorial: Posting photos.

Looking forward to see your photos.

Hope this helps.

I’m not sure if the photos do any justice but I can provide better ones, if need be. Also, will I need to remove the neck for further proof that this Legacy Special is the real deal? I just hope it’s not a tribute with a USA neck lol... She plays great, just paranoid I guess.. If the guitars fake, it’s a damn good one haha. Thanks again!

The Legacy Special is a USA only model. It was never made as a Tribute. Yours looks legitimate to me.

Thanks guys! Makes me feel better. I was getting worried because a friend of mine said stuff about fake guitars, and that people would swap necks/pickguards/pickups to put on non-usa ones. Especially on Fenders apparently. I'm a new guitar player, and wanted to make sure my Legacy Special was real American made G&L! Thanks again!

Yours looks just like mine. I wouldn't worry about that one being fake.
