shred like hell

Post by ieso »

What's up my G&L brethren?!

UPDATED 4th ed. :alright: (You can get it through my FB-group OR off my personal web page).

Some of you will recall my vid where I was chimping around on my Legacy in a musically ludicrous fashion.

Anyways, last year I put together a little pdf booklet on my hybrid style of shred for a few friends who hang out with me on FB. That got some good responses so I was encouraged to spruce it up a little bit and I just came up with the '2nd Edition' -- all free of course, for anybody who wants it.

Here's a link to further info and how to download it: http://gtroblq.blogspot.com/2017/07/the ... speed.html

Again, it's all free and I know how musically absurd it is to play like this but it is more or less baked into my right hand technique so, as they say, if it's your thing you might as well go ahead and do it.

Thanks

Howdy ieso,

I remember when you posted your shredding expertise and glad to see you are still up to your wicked ways!

Thanks for the new clips and will be downloading 2nd edition soon.

One of my sons recently started listening to metal, which isn't my thing stylistically but I like the sound of electric guitar and can appreciate the talent and practice it takes for everyone to go tucka-tucka-tucka-deyowwwwww all together really fast. He said to me, "dad, you're more into that smooth rhythm stuff"... I told him "what I like and what I can play are two different things sometimes". Over time I actually started gravitating more towards listening to things I can actually play so there's a lot less warp-speed guitar than when I was younger.

:D

Yeah, there's what I can do on a guitar and then what I usually do when it comes to recording actual music.

Likewise, this is more 'me' than any of my shredder stuff:

I'm more of an anti-shredder than I am the reverse. But, I can do it so I might as well every now and then and pass some of my technical knowhow on to people who can put it to better use than I.

It took a while but the book has been updated and is now in it's 3rd edition if anyone if interested (totally free, of course). I'll have to shoot a vid with my Comanche and see if I can't break the land speed record with it :alright:

The 5th edition is out!

http://gtroblq.blogspot.com/2017/07/the ... speed.html

It's in the FB group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/456636811142399/

If you're allergic to the F-book you can just get it directly from my site (no strings attached -- buy your own strings) :D
It's too large at this point to simply download (some odd Google rule) so just print to pdf instead.

https://sites.google.com/view/gtroblq/infinite-ego

The 6th edition is in the works.
