S500 USA and Fuzz Factory

Post by Joseph Joestar »

Hi!
I've got a Fuzz Factory 7 and I've used it with a Fender Strat HSS and a Caparison Angelus (HH).
Now, I've got a G&L S500 USA, and with this guitar the FF squeals easily, even when Gate is at max with Drive at max (with Drive at 3:00 doesn't squeal). Another issue is that when I've got Bass Tone at max sounds very muddy and with a lot of low end, but if I've got it at 80% it sounds "normal". Is this normal? Maybe, FF reacts different to MFD pickups? Do I need to explore more how MFDs reacts to FF? (volume and tone controls)

Thank you!

Hi Joseph,

I have experience with the Fuzz box, nor the non-G&L guitars you mentioned. But.... I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night :)

Seriously: The MFDs are a different type of critter. You will have to find new settings on boxes & amps to get "your" sounds.

Take care,

You might try running a buffer between the guitar and the pedal. I also have a FF7, but I'm using it with a Comanche, and after a buffer, and no excessive squealing. At least no unwanted squealing.
