Just received this one today from Reverb. S-500 first generation body style from 1988. Really loving this guitar. It is in almost perfect condition except for a chip on the matching headstock. Only one issue that I am trouble shooting... The trem arm side of the bridge is not quite clearing the aluminum pickguard (where the trem bolt is located). Anyone else with this generation of S-500 ever have have this issue? I may just pull the guard and file down and repaint that spot if I can't get it to set far back enough to have complete clearance. Cheers all.

i wonder if increasing the height of the bridge/tailpiece screw a little would allow it to clear the pickguard?
Awesome. Thanks Craig. I will take a look at this. Probably just has a bad set up.
I've been playing this all morning. Far exceeds my expectations. A really great player and I usually don't like 7.25 radius fretboards... but this plays like butter!
Good grab Sir. Love that red, so classy. Hope you can figure out that pick guard/bolt issue. I also think a proper setup to the correct specs may make a difference. Good luck and, PLAY ON!
