Will builders honor special requests when ordering?

Post by Daniel S »

For example, can I request that a tortoise pick guard be "as red as possible", or that a vintage neck tint be selected that is "the most aged looking"?

Or do these guys just stick to book and select the next item on the shelf?

Since G&L makes their own pickguards, they might be able to find a blank tortiseshell stock in their supply which would fit your request. Ask the dealer who you will
be ordering from to see if they will add that note to the order. To see some past builds with the various pickguards, see: January 25, 2018-present Pickguard Options.

As far as neck tints, they have two: Light and Vintage tints (for each: Gloss or Satin finishes), see: January 25, 2018-present Neck Finish Options.

If you order a G&L Custom Shop instrument, you will have a lot of flexibility with special requests. You just need to work with one of the Custom Shop dealers, to get your requests
approved by G&L Sales. See: Feb. 1, 2018-present Custom Shop Specifications & Options.

Hope this helps.
