ASAT Classic w/ ASAT Deluxe Control Layout -no control plate

Post by DrunkenGarbageCan »

Stumbled upon a nice ASAT Classic Bluesboy with what is suppose to be Black Limba top.

Most of the Black Limba ASAT's I see have a control plate with the 2 controls and selector inline. The Bluesboy I saw had no control plate and a control layout similar to an ASAT Deluxe.

Is this an option? I do not recall seeing it listed on the option selections.

Just curious

No, that is definitely a special build or from a special production run. All Black Limba top G&L instruments are
special builds by the factory and not a current option. Rear Mounted Controls on the ASAT Classic Bluesboy is also not a current option.
Also, see this post on special production runs: What does "special production run" mean?.
Here is list of some the past special builds: List of Special Edition & Non-Production ASAT-style guitars.

Hope this helps.
