ASAT Classics - What's the difference?

The place to discuss, post photos, video, and audio of the G&L products (US instruments, stomp boxes, etc.) produced after 1991, including the amps & gear we use with them.

ASAT Classics - What's the difference?

Post by Temporary Saint »

Hello,

W hat is the difference between the ASAT Classic and the ASAT Classic Fullerton Standard? The specs look identical other than color.

Not sure if this is specified elsewhere, but I didn't find it.

Here is how the Fullerton Standard models are described (reference post:February 1-August 31, 2017 G&L U.S. Specifications & Options):
Fullerton Standard [New-added March 2017]

Fullerton Standard instruments are produced in short production runs, and each run features a different model and/or color.
Every Fullerton Standard model comes with a G&L gig bag and includes Plek fret processing for superb playability.
Delivering unsurpassed quality and value in an authentic USA G&L made in Leo’s historic Fender Avenue factory
in Fullerton, California.
The difference is the Fullerton Standard models have a set specification with only a few selected color finishes and they come with a G&L gig bag.

From G&L's main website - ASAT Classic Fullerton Standard page:
Kicking off the Fullerton Standard program with March 2017 deliveries to authorized G&L dealers are two ASAT Classic guitars, both with street prices of about $1,000.

- Vintage White, 3-ply black pickguard, maple fingerboard
- Spanish Copper Metallic, 3-ply white pickguard, maple fingerboard
Hope this helps.

Hi Steve,

The only difference is the paint job. The Fullerton Standard is where they built a lot of the same model guitar with the same paint. All with the same neck, pick guard, etc., nothing custom.

Take care,
