Greg Gagliano's 1989 L-5000
Greg Gagliano's 1989 L-5000. Greg says, "Less than 50 were made between 1988 and 1990. The bulk of the production occurred in 1990 and 1991. It has a 2-piece alder body (same body type as the 2nd style SB series basses), rosewood fingerboard, and black crinkle metal guard. The L-5000 and the Interceptor Bass were the only G&L basses to use the sickle headstock shape. The bass sounds fantastic, but Leo Fender simply added a 5th string to a standard 4-string bass neck. Hence, the string spacing is narrow making playing a bit cumbersome. But, ohhhhh, what a sound!"
