1985 Broadcaster

Classic mid-80's graphic design, classic guitar. The Broadcaster. Leo Fender's actual, for-real signature appears in the neck pockets of these guitars. Dale Hyatt was responsible for the creation of this model; he dreamed it up while Leo was on vacation. Apparently Leo was a bit displeased when he returned only to find out that Dale had arranged for him to hand-sign every Broadcaster that left the factory. 869 were made in total; especially rare were those which left the factory equipped with the horrid Kahler locking tremelo system (another item for which Hyatt was responsible). I happen to own one of these Kahler-equipped Broadcasters - this is definitely one from the "What were they thinking?" department. ;-)
