1990 Comanche VI Ad Slick

This ad actually shows both a Comanche VI and a Comanche V (the latter is shown in the inset photo). The VI is way cool if only because it has enough switches to intimidate even the most nerdy gearheads. The V is pretty cool too. The Z-coil pickups seem to be wildly popular with some players, while others (myself included) think they pale just a bit in comparison with G&L's other pickup offerings.

Thanks to Jim DePitts for sending in this magazine ad showing off both a Comanche VI and Comanche V - note that this ad is very similar to the ad slick (also in the Gallery) but the Comanche VI now has a natural finish. Jim says, "I'd pay a premium for an 'ad' instrument...would you? I wonder who has this beautiful piece?"
