Anonymous 1980 F-100 (Metallic Gold)

These pics show a metallic gold F-100 formerly owned by Russ Manuel. This finish is actually very similar in appearance to the ultra-rare candy lemon finish, but it is lacking the "yellow" tinge that distinguishes the latter. Russ had the following to say when he originally submitted this photo to the Gallery:

"Proof that miracles do happen, is this Gold Metallic F-100 which was found at the Arlington Fall Show in 1996. I had just finished reading Paul Bechtoldt's first book and after searching all day found this instrument in Jimmy Wallace's booth, being offered by a local customer of Jimmy's who wanted to turn a few items of his collection. The seller (who said he was the original owner) claimed to have bought the guitar from a dealer in Dallas when it was new. He thought that early G&L guitars might have some value one day but, after time, lost interest. Serial number is #G000652. The neck has never been popped."
