Joe Maas' 1986 X-body Interceptor

Joe Maas' second-style X-body Interceptor. Joe says, "Mine is clear red with a black border, chrome hardware with a kahler, factory oil finished neck with an ebony board and 2 schaller humbuckers. The striking feature about the guitar is that it has a factory oil finished neck. There were very few of these necks put on guitars in the middle 80's. I've seen this neck on a limited number of Rampages, Invaders, Skyhawks. The explanation I got was that either Dale did it as an experiment to answer the call of the time for a faster neck like Dean and Jackson guitars was doing at the time, or that they had a code violation going at the time and kept them from spraying necks for a short period. I have an Invader with this neck finish also."
