Circa 1987 L•2000 ad. By this time the model had evolved to the clean look of rear-mounted controls and the updated headstock. Gone was the ‘70s flavor of George Fullerton’s chunky control plate and early headstock. About 30 years later those early G&L styling cues returned to production. I think George would have been surprised.
