Shims to replace the bar magnets. Shims to make up for the missing magnets. Do this to make sure that the pickup covers and pickup components still fit correctly. This is a 1 1/8" long, 1/2" wide, 1/4" high shim .

Z Coil with adjustable pole piece slugs removed and neodyium rod magnets installed. The dimensions of the neodyium rod magnet are 1/8" diameter and 5/8" long. The material is N42, similar gauss as an AlNiCo 5 rod magnet of the same size.

Modified Z Coil pickups reassembledRead my post in the Project Page. Lessons learned - use some heat when removing the pickup cover, use some heat removing the ceramic magnets if you want to be able to reuse them, use a 1/8" diameter by 3/4" length rod magnet for a Will Ray Z Co

Read my post in the Project Page. Lessons learned - use some heat when removing the pickup cover, use some heat removing the ceramic magnets if you want to be able to reuse them, use a 1/8" diameter by 3/4" length rod magnet for a Will Ray Z Coil, consider using Will Ray pickups in all 3 positions due to the increased windings on the coils.
