Jeff Byrd's 1987 "Fred Newell" Turquoise ASAT III

Here is a recent addition to Jeff Byrd's G&L collection. Jeff says, "Back in 1987, Dale Hyatt contacted Fred Newell and asked him to get together a few of his guitar buddies. Dale was bringing a few new G&L models and guitars with new finishes to town for these Nashville Cats to test, so they could spread the word about G&L's. After hours of pickin, as the guys left, the G&L's disappeared. there was one left. The turquoise Asat III. Dale didn't want to lug it home, so Fred took it off his hands. He played it on the "Nashville Now" television program a few times. In recent years, Fred has sold off some of his massive guitar collection and I was lucky enough to get hold of this one. Oh yeah, it plays like a dream!!!"
