The place to discuss, post photos, video, and audio of the G&L products (US instruments, stomp boxes, etc.) produced after 1991, including the amps & gear we use with them.

Comanche - replace stock saddles with Tusq string savers

Post by comanche »

Does anyone know if Tusq saddles will fit in a G&L Comanche?

The current saddles are heavily notched/grooved (especially on the high E), and they are starting to wear away on the low E and A strings.

Looking for any feedback on these saddles - whether they are worth it, will work (fit, height etc), or is just buying a set of replacement saddles from G&L the way to go?

I have seen some on G&L S body models in the past. I found this post here showing a Comanche with them.

The specifications are listed on the web link you included, so you should be able to check to confirm they will fit your Comanche.

Hope this helps.

Great! Thanks for the link Craig. I ended up ordering some and a new nut also. Trying to fix some intonation issues, and the existing gear has worn to some extent.

I'll try to document the process as I replace these things - it might be of interest to the group.
