Treating wood for tone

Hi All,

This article http://www.economist.com/node/21563276 talks about a way to treat wood so that you can make a violin that sounds like a Strad. It makes me wonder what you could do when making an arch top.

Interesting read!, but on my pc it all sounds like a two dollar fiddle..lol anyway, never know what the future will hold?
Any improvement on instruments is a Great thing and something to look in to.
