Yes. Submittals can be made completely confidentially and anonymously if you wish. You can control this via your User Profile at the site. If you would like to keep your submittals private, simply edit your profile and set your Registry Privacy setting accordingly. For more information, check out the User Profiles area of the site.
No. On the Instrument submittal form there is a question that asks whether you own the Instrument - simply select "No", and the submittal will be added anonymously. Any G&L® Instruments are fair game as long as you can get a serial number and model. This includes Instruments you see on the Internet, at shops, at your cousin's friend's mother's house, whatever.
Do not be alarmed if your Instrument already appears in The G&L® Registry; it may have been submitted by a previous owner, by a dealer who had it for sale, or by someone else who was able to determine its serial number (perhaps from a "for sale" ad on the Internet, or in person at a music store). If you would like to edit the listing and/or declare yourself as the Instrument's "owner", click on the Instrument's serial number, and you'll be taken to the "Edit an Existing Instrument" screen. Simply follow the instructions given there.
If there is no date or the date is entirely illegible, simply make note of this in the Other Features field, and skip over the corresponding date entry question on the Instrument submittal form (i.e., leave the month, day, and year set to "Unknown"). If the date is partially legible then please enter the data that you do know. For example, perhaps you can make out that the month is May, but you cannot make out any of the rest of the date; in this case you'd set the month to May but would leave the day and year set to "Unknown".
New models are added to the end of the scrolling list, so check the complete list for your model. However, should it not be listed, please skip the corresponding question on the Instrument submittal form (leaving the item set to "Unknown") and instead make note of the Instrument feature in the Other Features field. If you feel that a Model, Color, Fretboard Wood, Body Wood, or Bridge is being overlooked, please notify the Administrator.
At the bottom of each search results page, there is a link that says "Click here if you would like to PRINT this page". Click that link and you'll be presented with a plain, printer-friendly version of the same page. Use your browser's menu or toolbar to submit the page to your printer.
Two ways. Firstly, an actual human (The G&L® Registry Administrator, to be precise) hand-examines and approves new submittals and edits as they come in. Secondly, The G&L® Registry has been equipped with the smarts to automatically generate appropriate warning e-mails in situations where data integrity is at risk. (Rest assured that the user will always be warned in advance, and notified of the situation, before one of these e-mails is generated.)
The following features will be added as time permits:
No bugs are known to exist at this time.
If your question is a "general" one related to The G&L® Registry, please post it on The G&L Discussion Page on this site. Please contact the Administrator (at ra.guitarsbyleo@gmail.com) only if strictly necessary, and only for inquiries regarding individual submittals.
