Though the Broadcaster is not truly a "rarebird" by the criterion we're
using to determine the other rarebird models, it is arguably the most
well-known "limited production" G&L and hence we include it here for
completeness.
Check out this page on Greg Gagliano's site for the Broadcaster story and specifications. All I'll add to Greg's text is that there were a few factory options available within the normal Broadcaster production. In particular, there are reportedly at least a handful of Broadcasters with rosewood fretboards. Also, there were a number of Broadcasters that came factory-equipped with Kahler tremelos; the vast majority of these Kahler-equipped Broadcasters had ebony fretboards. However, it is believed that there are only seven Kahler-equipped Broadcasters with maple fretboards. |
