G&L asat tribute series "made in usa" (?)

Post by Sosaman894 »

Hey guys, a couple months ago i acquired a G&L asat classic tribute series from a friend, it' s everything ok with it, the thing is that i recently saw the "made in usa" legend on the headstock of my guitar, but as far as i know, there is no "american tribute series" i'd like to share some photos but i think that i can not upload from my cellphone, but i'd really hope all your answers and if you need the serial number info here it is: 100807481

Serial number indicates Made In Indonesia Tribute Series. And no, there is no American Tribute Series. Please post
photos (front and back of this guitar) and a clear closeup of the "made in usa" legend.

Looking forward to seeing your photos.

Your photos are too big to use img BBCode. You need to use the timage BBCode:

Clearly this Tribute AC has had the serial number decal doctored, with "Indonesia" removed (along with part of the '1' digit) and
a "Made In U.S.A." waterslide decal added. They didn't even bother to remove the front "Tribute Series" decal. Hope you or one
of the previous owners did not get tricked into thinking they bought a USA model guitar. We have see similar doctoring, see: Buyer Beware: Doctored Tribute Series models ....

Also, the stock MFD pickups were replaced with some type of Alnico pickups.

For more info on G&L Tribute Series instruments, see: What is the new Tribute series which G&L announced in 2003? and Why the change in manufacturing location for the Tributes?.

Thank you for your help Craig, luckily for me i got it at the "indonesian" price, i forgot to mention that i've already knew about the pickups, they are from a vintage telecaster '52. Thanks again you' ve been very helpful. Greetings from Mexico.
