G&L L-2500 Made in USA s/n

Post by liotcik »

Hello,

I want to buy used G&L L-2500 bass from ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dl ... IF:US:1123
Seller say it was made in 2002 and it's serial number is CL02590, but as i understand this type of serial numbers was only used in 1997. Can anybody help me with finding is it real USA made or is it fake.

Thanks
P.S. Sorry for my broken english :?

Hi, I did a quick search in the registry for serial numbers in the range CL02500 - CL0600 and there are a couple of L2500 basses in that range, one in particular has a neck and body date of 1998

The CLxxxxx serial number format was used only in late 1997-1998.
If this is all original as the factory built, then the seller is mistaken about
the build year of 2002.

I would ask the seller if he has the neck and body build dates. There should be
a date on the neck heel and inside the neck pocket. It's possible that a previous owner
replaced the neck with an older neck.

Did you see this note on the auction?: --No International Shipping--

Hope this helps.
