Hi,
for my 2013 legacy trem. arm tension screw. this is not tight well.
I lost my original one. so I searched forum, I found out many people said after 2005 US legacy and tribute legacy use same metric screw so, not tension screw size must to be M4 0.7pitch length approx. 3-4mm.
so I got mine from AliExpress form this screw, but this seems not tight enough. I can tight with nylon bushing but after few days later this screw easily come out of hole.
so this will be two scenario. tension hole is not metric. it can be 8#-32 UNC size which is similar with M4 metric size but slightly bigger. so I technically insert small screw to big hole. but based on G&L online site, after 2005 all of legacy use metric so M4 should correct size(I tried M5, and there is no M4.5 size on market in standard). so G&L mistakenly ship out with imperial size arm holder with hole, but possibility is too small because 2005 and 2013 is large gap to be mistaken
since I don't have original screw in my hand I cannot measure, but also I would like to know loosen tension screw is normal on legacy from others or I should try to get 8-32 UNC grub bolt buy AliExpress and try to my guitar screw hole
please help, I need to fix this issue. if this is natural for G&L guitar, I will just give up and keep retighten after I remove Trem. arm

Well, if you are convinced that the hole is for an SAE grub screw, then I suggest you get one and try it. If it does not fit then I would recheck the M4 screw you got from AllExpressveritasjk wrote:Hi,

to see if they sent you the wrong size. If you confirm that it is an M4 size, you might try using Loctite 242 Blue glue on the threads of the screw. It will hold the screw and you can unscrew it when necessary.
Hope this helps.

Re: US Legacy Trem arm tension screw
Thanks you. I measured screw, and it is M4 size. so grade will be okay, but I cannot measure hole size so I am sure hole has M4 thread or not. but is even G&L mistakenly can produce imperial size hole on 2013 model? is this even possible?Craig wrote:Well, if you are convinced that the hole is for an SAE grub screw, then I suggest you get one and try it. Re: US Legacy Trem arm tension screw
Did you buy the 2013 Legacy new or used? If new, it is possible that the arm holder screw hole might be defective (ie. wrong hole size drilled). If used, many possibilities could exist, such as a past owner replaced the bridge (or parts) with a pre-2006 built bridge (or parts), or re-tapped the hole for an SAE size grub screw.veritasjk wrote:Thanks you. Since you say that the M4 screw seems to fit the screw hole (loosely) I would again suggest using Loctite 242 Blue glue on the threads of the screw.
Just my $0.02.
