I am normally not a fan of metallic paint jobs, but this is very tasty. I don't know that I've ever seen a burst on a metallic before. I probably have, and just didn't notice - but I really like the look of this one.

In 1994, G&L came out with Gold Metallicburst (aka Goldburst) as a Standard finish.

It was discontinued in 2001.

In 2022, G&L came out with 2-Tone Goldburst Metallic for the ASAT Classic Thinline Limited Run model, see: asat-classic-thinline.

In 2023, G&L announced in the G&L Custom Shop U.S. Dealer Price List dated January 1, 2023, these three metallic burst finishes:
- 3-Tone Sunburst Metallic (no photos available yet)
- Old School Metallic

I saw this guitar listed on Reverb. First I've seen of a Comanche sans pickguard. Major GAS was induced...

They built a few Comanches around 2018 (give ir take) without a pick guard. I recall a blue burst and natural one. The natural was over black limba or something unique like that.
